April Hoogasian is the Director of Training & Consulting Services and has been with yli for 12 years. April has a passion for partnering with youth and adult allies to build grassroots leadership and thriving communities and is an incredibly gifted facilitator. She has run hundreds of trainings in over 50 urban, suburban, and rural communities across the nation, reaching thousands of youth and adult allies. April has expertise in participatory facilitation, youth-led action research, youth leadership development, youth-led community change campaigns, and building equitable and dynamic youth and adult teams. Utilizing lessons learned from her work in the field, April supports staff development and creates curriculum and tools to support communities to create change.
April lives in Fresno, CA with her husband Matt and two daughters, River and Autumn. She loves gardening, photography, and is learning to play the baritone ukulele.
