Ashly Castillo is a recent graduate from San Francisco State University with a bachelor’s degree in public health. Born in San Francisco and raised in the Philippines, she returned to California during her sophomore year of high school. She is passionate about youth advocacy and is dedicated to improving public health and supporting communities.
Ashly first joined yli as an intern during her senior year of college, gaining valuable experience in programs designed to empower young people. Now, as the Program Coordinator for the San Mateo County Tobacco Education Coalition’s Youth Advisory Group (YAG), she leads initiatives to reduce tobacco use among youth. In this role, she will be launching two new tobacco-focused YAG programs, supporting 10 youth leaders in their efforts to promote health equity, raise awareness, and create tobacco-free environments in their communities.
In her free time, Ashly enjoys traveling, spending time at the beach with friends and family, and exploring new cuisines.
