Cindy Jurado Hernandez (she/her/ella)

Cindy is a proud Fresno native from the Roosevelt neighborhood in Southeast Fresno. Her parents migrated from Mexico in search of a better life for her and her six siblings. From a young age, her mother, Micaela, introduced her to civic engagement by registering voters, canvassing their 93702 neighborhood, and organizing alongside her faith community.

Cindy has over sixteen years of experience in youth development, public education campaigns, and advocacy. She spent ten years supporting young adults in higher education as the Director of Diversity and Inclusion, a mentor to undocumented students, and an adjunct faculty member. She currently chairs the board of Every Neighborhood Partnership (ENP), a nonprofit equipping individuals one school and neighborhood at a time.

As Senior Director of Programs for Fresno and Madera at yli, she oversees countywide efforts in Prevention and Intervention, Youth Organizing, and Storytelling.

Cindy was a first-generation college student and two-time Fresno Pacific University alum, earning a B.A. in History and an M.A. in Theology. She is married to a small business owner and they have four children, including a young adult!
