Damaris began her involvement with yli as a dedicated high school student. Throughout her time, she played a crucial role in supporting program activities. She assisted in various capacities at each meeting, ensuring that young participants received timely reminders and contributing to efficient roll calls. Additionally, she demonstrated initiative by developing engaging activities designed to foster connections and enhance interaction among the young people involved.
Drawing upon her leadership experience as a participant in Friday Night Live, Damaris transitioned into the role of program assistant following her high school graduation. This opportunity allowed her to further develop her skills and contribute to the program in a more significant capacity, leveraging her insights and understanding gained from her previous involvement.
Currently, Damaris is approaching her third year of dedicated service at yli. Beginning her journey as a program participant, she has since evolved into a vital program assistant. In this role, she provides invaluable support in various areas, including facilitating meetings, preparing essential materials, and developing comprehensive agendas. Her contributions have significantly enhanced the program’s effectiveness and impact on the youth we serve.
