Jackie graduated from Cal State East Bay majoring in Criminal Justice. She took on this journey in reaching a higher education not just for herself, but for the members of her community, believing that through education we are able to medicate and heal our communities from the numerous traumas that we face as individuals. Her goal is to become a Probation Officer for juveniles.
Since completing high school, Jackie has worked with an organization that provides youth with strong adult mentors and a continuum of support that builds bridges to higher education and breaks the cycle of poverty. She has worked with a range of students throughout Oakland, including youth from some of the most underinvested neighborhoods plagued by violence. She has also served as a Peer Advisor for the Oakland Youth Advisory Commission (OYAC).
Jackie is excited to bring her talents to yli as the Program Coordinator for Oakland Police Community Youth leadership Council. During her free time, she enjoys playing golf and working out!
