Sadé Powell is the new Program Manager of YLI San Francisco. She is a matcha-enthusiast and avid advocate for youth. She has tons of experience developing youth leaders as advocates and change makers. She started out in youth-led policy advocacy in NYC where she lobbied for the implementation of comprehensive sex education in public schools. After graduating high school, she became a global advocate, lobbying on Capitol Hill for international and domestic sexual reproductive health rights. Since then, she’s settled in the Bay and earned her degree in Cultural Anthropology. For Sadé, human-centered engagement requires humility, activism, and radical healing.
When she isn’t theorizing on the order of things, you can find her near Lake Merritt reading James Baldwin and eating pastelitos.
