Shalin grew up in Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley, and comes from a mixed family with Southern roots. Her passion for youth development and social justice is grounded in her experience as a young organizer fighting the criminalization of youth of color in LAUSD schools. As an undergraduate at UC Berkeley, she studied Ethnic Studies and led art programming at the Multicultural Community Center. She brings an strong background in facilitation, organizing, and affordable housing advocacy.
Shalin is a laid-back libra who loves the ocean, air hockey, and making bomb playlists for road trips!
