Yenifer Gallegos-Mejia has been a part of the YLI team for 7 months, but has been involved with Youth Leadership Institute for over 7 years now. She started off as a Youth Member, then an Adult Advisor, interned with YLI, and is now a Program Coordinator in the Central Valley. Yenifer works with young people in rural communities to ensure that their voices are being heard. She does this by giving them the resources that they need to become leaders in their communities and helping them address issues that affect their quality of life.
On her free time, she loves to travel, volunteer, try new food, journal, and spend time with her husband and their fur baby, Zoey .
Yenifer graduated from California State University, Fresno in 2017 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and is currently in the Masters of Social Work program at CSU Fresno.
