Raza College Day at SFSU – Validating Latino Students

 |
yli is My Story

Novato High School students attended RAZA College Day where they were greeted with poetry from the Raza Department. Students engaged in conversation with both AB 540 and 1st  generation University students. They visited a museum exhibit in the Fine Arts Department. In Jack Adams Hall the students were embraced by all the Chicano/Latino Student Organizations on campus. They informed the Novato High School students how they can become involved on campus while staying engaged in their own education. The campus tour by Project Connect and Raza included information about the different majors and programs. This organized cultural event included ethnic food and pastries, Danza Azteca and Mariachis to remind the students of their rich culture and history. Students were also informed of the different majors and programs as they toured the campus.
