Martin Luther King Jr Day is an important holiday for me. Martin Luther King Jr. fought for everything he had to get equality for his people. King was so dedicated to his cause he marched for it, delivered speeches for it, even got arrested for it, even died for it. When I was in elementary school, I loved reading about King, I wrote about him, and even as a shy kid talked about him amongst my peers. King is one of my biggest inspirations, he made me feel like I had power, like I could make a change. I don’t know if I would be so passionate about activism if it wasn’t for King. I’m so grateful for him.
