About the Creator

Erika Duarte graduated from Coachella Valley High School and currently attending College of the Desert, Erika is an advocate for environmental justice in the Eastern Coachella Valley. With an interest in public policy and international law, Erika uses her academic passions to speak up about the ongoing issues surrounding the ECV. Erika’s goal is to not only focus locally but also internationally because an issue everywhere is an issue to all. Erika is a strong believer that if we continue to educate people on societal and environmental issues, it will be less complicated to face these issues. Apart from her academic and career goals, Erika enjoys getting lost in time reading a book, loves hanging out with her friends, and enjoys spending time playing Roblox.
