Patrick Hautau (he/him)

Patrick serves as the CTE Building Construction and Trades Internship Coach at yli in San Mateo, California. With an extensive background in Building Construction, Retail Management, Leadership, and Entrepreneurship, he is dedicated to empowering 30 youth through education and skills development in the Green Internship Pilot.

Born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, Patrick is a first-generation Polynesian college graduate. He earned an Associate of Applied Science in Applied Trades from the University of Hawaii, where he also met his beautiful Filipina wife. Since 2011, Patrick has been living in the Bay Area, actively supporting his church and local communities.

Patrick helped launch the first Building Trades and Construction program at a local high school and led the Youth Empowerment, Entrepreneurship, and Employment “Intro to Trades” summer program, which inspired many young people to explore careers in the trades. In his role at yli, he champions the values of inclusion, innovation, social justice, and community, ensuring every student feels supported and empowered.

By bridging the gap between industry and education, Patrick helps students develop essential skills and confidence, fostering a new generation of builders and leaders in the Bay Area.

Patrick loves quality time with his family, is a foodie, enjoys movies, and traveling the world.
