The SF News recently covered the amazing work conducted by the YLI Tobacco Use Reduction Force (TURF), culminating in the passage of an ordinance that halts the issuance of new tobacco permits to San Francisco retailers in low-income neighborhoods with already high tobacco densities. This ordinance, introduced by San Francisco Supervisor Eric Mar, will amend The City’s health code and strives for equity in the number of tobacco permits per district.
