Justice Grows Here is a program designed for high school students of color who are interested in environmental justice, leadership, and community action.
It blends SFPUC’s environmental justice curriculum with Youth Leadership Institute’s (yli) civic engagement and organizing framework. The goal is to make sure youth of color see themselves represented in environmental careers and leadership roles, while building important skills for college and future careers.

- Environmental Justice learning: water systems, climate change, and equity issues.
- College & career readiness: public speaking, teamwork, and project management.
- Civic engagement projects: youth-led campaigns addressing real issues in the community.
- Guest speakers and career exploration opportunities.
- $500 scholarship upon program completion.
