Sign up for Youth Leadership Institute’s “C.O.R.A.L,” a free-to-join year long program where you will develop research, storytelling, and multi-media skills. You will earn a stipend for your participation! This program will run from August 2022 to June 2023 with both virtual and in-person meetings.

From August to December, we will mentor rising seniors so that they may achieve their full academic and leadership potential – despite the obstacles often put before them – to make a significant impact on society. We do this through mentorship (through panels with students of all walks of life, as well as admissions counselors; meetings that walk you through FAFSA and personal statements).

From January to June, recruitment opens up to all grades to develop the leadership skills they need to become leaders in their respective professions, communities and society. Participating youth have the opportunity to initiate and complete a multi-media service project that will positively impact their surrounding community.

This is done through an initial research phase where youth will learn research justice, qualitative and quantitative data, learn about why educational inequity exists, and storytelling.

Then, youth will learn any multi-media skill and creative practice of their choice to show their research findings or uplift their narratives; this can include print making, graphic design, zine making, dance, music, video production & photography, podcast — and more Youth will be provided with advice and assistance with their art projects, providing valuable leadership development, and civic engagement experience.

If you’re interested in meeting others around you and learning about research and art, this is the program for you! Fill out this application and learn more at our virtual orientation (date TBD).
