Climate Action Plan Workshop: San Mateo County and Sustainable Pescadero
- This event has passed.
October 27, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
This time, the County of San Mateo and City of Half Moon Bay have teamed up with Sustainable Pescadero so your ideas and priorities can inform climate planning for Half Moon Bay AND unincorporated Coastal communities. By working together we can be more impactful and inclusive – and put more of your suggestions to work.
Recent wildfires have devastated our Coastside communities, and climate change makes wildfire events like these worse. We can work together to reduce the emissions that lead to climate change. The County climate plan and the City of Half Moon Bay CAAP will set goals and strategies to reduce the pollution that causes climate change so we can do our part to reduce the risk and frequency of severe weather and other climate change impacts in the future while building a more older adult-friendly community across the Coastside. This is your chance to weigh in on an important planning process for your neighborhood and community!
We invite EVERYONE to weigh in and participate whether you are joining the conversation or have attended past events. You do not need to know anything about climate change to participate and the workshops will have new questions and expanded topics from past events.
The event will include a quick update about how your input so far is being used by the City, to tell you a little more about the County planning process for unincorporated communities (Montara, Moss Beach, Princeton By-the-Sea, El Granada, Miramar, La Honda, Loma Mar, San Gregorio, and Pescadero) and then we’ll launch into a lively conversation. We can’t wait – again, our thanks!
By attending the workshop, you’ll automatically be entered into a raffle. We’ll be giving away gift cards at the end of the workshop. Please register soon to reserve your space. This workshop is offered by the San Mateo County Office of Sustainability and the City of Half Moon Bay.
We look forward to seeing you there!
