Sarah Delgado (she/her)

Sarah was born and raised in Madera, CA and graduated from Madera South High School in 2019. After high school, she attended Madera Community College and earned an Associates in Business Administration and then transferred to Fresno State where she fell in love with journalism. In May 2024, she received her Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and certificate in Fashion Merchandising.

During her first year at Fresno State, Sarah moved to Fresno where she quickly became involved with the local art and culture community, constantly attending events like Art Hop and underground fashion shows. With her pre-existing love for fashion, Sarah found her place in fashion journalism and used her knowledge of fashion to create her own magazine called “In The ‘No.” It was both her passion project and main project for the Fresno State Honors Art and Humanities Symposium. Sarah was also asked to join the student-run newspaper, The Collegian, and was honored to accept the Lifestyle Editor role. She contributed fashion and culture stories to The Collegian and crafted a whole new landscape for how The Collegian decides to cover art and culture stories in the Central Valley.

Later, because of her expertise in the local fashion scene, Sarah was asked to lead the Fashion Merchandising department club “Fashion Inc.” in its revival and managed to direct three sold-out fashion shows since its inception. She discovered a calling for creative direction and added this new found skill to her fashion portfolio. Since her graduation, Sarah has been busy with managing her own fashion blog, modeling, practicing her styling skills and directing more fashion shows as her own entity.

At yli, Sarah is a multilingual fellow who helps coordinate the annual Latinx Celebración and mentors youth within the EL Storytelling cohort. She also participates as a mentor with The Know and Journalists of Color.

In her free time, Sarah likes to drink tea from Teazers, shop and thrift, play with her cat Mosey and cockatiel Kernel, practice her spirituality, and cook for her partner.
