Daly City Bay Leaders is a youth program, launched in August of 2019 at Westmoor High School in Daly City. In the program, we explore the challenges youth face in Daly City and work toward creating a strong network of young people to advocate for the future we want to live in.
This year, we are working on spreading awareness about the ongoing housing crisis in the Bay Area, and educating young people about how they can help their communities create affordable housing and support the unhoused. Youth will tell their stories about how they are affected by the housing crisis and make the public more aware of the severity of the housing crisis.
Over the next year, we will speak with the city council and school boards about the changes we want to make in our city. We will also continually be looking at how to create safer homes by protecting the rights of renters within Daly City.
