Daly City Bay Leaders

Daly City Bay Leaders is a youth program, launched in August of 2019 at Westmoor High School in Daly City, that sparks positive change by identifying and addressing transportation, housing and civic engagement challenges that youth face within the Daly City community.

This year, we are working fiercely to dismantle sexual assault culture in our schools. In partnership with Youth Advocates, we plan to show the intersectionalities of sexual assault culture and the overturn of Roe Vs Wade with the understanding that, if we can prevent sexual assault at the local level, we’ll have a better chance at protecting our students from future troubles and trauma.

Over the next year, we will cultivate lasting relationships with local government entities while we work toward creating a safer school environment by removing student abusers from school campuses and addressing mental and emotional trauma. We will also continually be looking at how to create safer homes by protecting the rights of renters within Daly City.

Want to make a difference?

If you are a youth interested in making a difference and having your opinion heard, we are currently conducting a survey for youth and adult/guardians about what safety means to you.

The purpose of this survey is to gauge the community’s thoughts, feelings, and concerns when it comes to the safety of the Daly City community. It is our hope that we can use the results to uplift the voices of those silenced to truly make the community safer for all people.

*You do not have to be a part of the youth group in order to participate in this survey.

Interested in joining?

We are currently accepting new high school and college-age youth in Daly City who are interested in building a better community. We meet weekly at Westmoor High School on Fridays 3:30-4:30pm.
