Daly City Bay Leaders

Daly City Bay Leaders is a youth program, launched in August of 2019 at Westmoor High School in Daly City, sparks positive change by identifying and addressing transportation, housing and civic engagement challenges that youth face within the Daly City community.

This year, we will be focusing on creating a safer community. With the new Measure Z funding coming into the Jefferson School District, there are plans for using funds to increase safety measures. It is critical that youth are part of that process, so we will cultivate lasting relationships with local government entities while we work toward removing Student Resource Officers from school campuses, and creating a safer emotional and mental environment for youth at their schools. We will also be looking at how to create safer homes by protecting the rights of renters within Daly City.

Want to make a difference?

If you are a youth interested in making a difference and having your opinion heard, we are currently conducting a survey for youth and adult/guardians about what safety means to you.

The purpose of this survey is to gauge the community’s thoughts, feelings, and concerns when it comes to the safety of the Daly City community. It is our hope that we can use the results to uplift the voices of those silenced to truly make the community safer for all people.

*You do not have to be a part of the youth group in order to participate in this survey.

Interested in joining?

We are currently accepting new high school and college-age youth in Daly City who are interested in building a better community. We meet weekly via zoom on Mondays/Wednesdays from 4:00pm-5:00pm.
