Opened in October 2024, the Healing Generation Center is a partnership between Youth Leadership Institute and Merced County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services. The Healing Generation Center serves as a restorative environment for youth whose lives have been disrupted because of inequitable access to mental health services. Our populations of focus include youth and young adults aged 14-24, and are aimed at those involved with the justice system, low income, children of migrant workers, youth in rural communities, non-English speaking youth, those facing housing and food insecurity, and youth in foster care. There is no referral process or requirements to visit the HGC and receive services.
Services include but are not limited to suicide prevention, an open food pantry, peer support, and referrals to treatment for substance use disorders. We currently have five youth cohorts that meet on a weekly basis, each focusing on a different justice platform. View more about each program by following the links below!
