Requirements/Commitments
Youth in Half Moon Bay High School work on Social Norms Campaigns, which challenge young peopleβs perceptions around underage drinking. By collecting input from their peers through surveys and other research tools, youth show that drinking isnβt nearly as prevalent as it seems and use positive messaging to encourage healthy activities. Through this process, youth gain leadership, community building, and networking skills. The program runs between September 2023 – Summer 2024.
Friday Night Live is looking for Half Moon Bay high school students to join our program. We are seeking students who are interested in making change on campus and in their community. Youth will lead a social media campaign on social, emotional, and physical impacts that alcohol and other drugs have on individuals. Youth may choose between a stipend or community service hours for their contribution. Meetings are held every Thursday from 4:30 to 5:30pm at the Half moon Bay Library.
