Ivette grew up in Fresno, CA and graduated from Edison High School in 2016. After high school, Ivette went on to graduate from CSU Fresno in 2021, making her a first generation college graduate. Growing up in an underserved community, Ivette wanted to be a voice for the community and that led her to be an active member of Fresno FNL and YALL during her high school years and an intern for yli during her college years. Ivette was a part of Hispañas Organized for Political Equality (HOPE) which provided her with a great sense of sisterhood, seeing women in all different stages of their lives want to continue empowering themselves and others. Ivette wants to give back and continue improving the community that helped shape her.
Ivette now works as a Program Coordinator in rural West Fresno working with youth in San Joaquin and Tranquility. Her background as a former youth and growing up in an underserved community has fueled her desire to continue to help grow and empower youth in the community. Shes wants to help youth learn advocacy skills and help them feel empowered to make a positive change in their community.
In her free time, Ivette likes spending time with her family, watching reality tv and retail therapy.
