Morgan Montgomery (they/them)

Morgan grew up in Sacramento, moved to Eureka to attend Cal Poly Humboldt at 18 and they now reside in Berkeley. They are a dedicated youth programs coordinator with experience in outdoor education and youth development. With a background in leading engaging programs for both middle and high school students, Morgan brings a unique blend of wilderness skills, mentorship, and educational programming to their role.

Passionate about creating transformative experiences that empower youth as leaders in their communities, they aim to inspire young people to develop environmental stewardship and leadership skills. In their role at yli, they coordinate the Marin County Youth Commission, a group of 23 young people who are dedicated to representing the political voice of youth in Marin county.  They also coordinate a Friday Night Live chapter at Hamilton Middle School, a lunch time club that supports 10-12 youth in becoming community leaders through addressing issues around underage substance use.

Morgan is also pursuing studies in herbalism to deepen their understanding of natural ecosystems, and learning how to care for the land and people.
