Since Nathen graduated high school in 2022, they have been a passionate community advocate. He participated in Fund Our Futures, an affordable housing campaign in Merced led by PowerCalifornia, where he canvassed and phonebanked Merced residents to vote to establish a 500k affordable housing trust fund.
As a Program Coordinator for the Healing Generation Center, Nathen manages the front desk. Signing people in, cleaning and maintaining the center, setting up for programming, and creating advertisement materials are all core responsibilities of Nathen’s. Day to day, they serve about 3-12 youth in making sure their experience at the center is safe, fun, and high quality.
