Roosevelt Friday Night Live was awarded the Friday Night Live chapter of the year for their Positive Social Norms Peer and Parent Media Campaign. For the peer component, they designed three social norms posters for Instagram, Twitter, and SnapChat. Youth put up close to 300 copies of all three social norms posters on their campus and reached 2, 203 students. For every social norms posters the chapter released they also created a SnapChat Geo-filter to coincide with their message, and organized three SnapChapter Filter Challenges during lunchtime to engage their peers. The Geo-filters were viewed 4,694 times.
For the parent component, the chapter partnered with their local iHeartMedia to craft and record two sets of parent PSAs. The first set was aired during the holidays and the second set during graduation to educate, create awareness, and empower parents and adults to refuse to supply alcohol to minors. They were able reach 1.6 million people in the valley with their parent PSAs.
