Breanna Adkins (she/her)

Growing up, Breanna experienced firsthand the effects of belonging to an underfunded and underrepresented community. Through fellow community members, she learned what is possible when you take all the injustice you feel inside and turn it into action. Breanna has also had a longstanding interest and commitment to education. Through her work experience, she has been able to help students of all ages identify and reach their educational goals.

Breanna hopes to utilize these experiences to uplift young people as they learn to navigate the places they call home, and offer guidance as they identify the traditions, systems, inequalities, nuances, and good that can be found there. Her goal is to show them that change can start within themselves, as they play just as valuable a role as everyone else in their communities.

At yli, Breanna assists with the ¡Que Madre! and Coachella Unincorporated youth programs at the Eastern Coachella Valley branch. She is also a Community Health Navigator, creating workshops, fostering community connections, and training Youth Trusted Messengers to lead outreach efforts. Some of these workshops and outreach efforts include a focus on mental health, heat safety, water conservation and other public health impacts in the eastern Coachella Valley.

In her free time, Breanna likes to draw portraits and try new foods!
