What is this bill about?
AB 1276 will improve emergency response systems in California by establishing a program for the collection and analysis of 911 emergency call and dispatch data, developing uniform statewide data collection standards, and, excluding any personally identifiable information, publishing a data portal for ongoing monitoring.
How does it align with yli’s values?
yli partners with thousands of youth across the state, the majority of whom are low-income youth of color. While these young people are disproportionately impacted by emergencies of all kinds, response time to their communities is often long delayed or appears not at all. They deserve to receive prompt and appropriate care while being protected from criminalization by the collection of personally identifiable data.
