Genesis Medina (she/her)

Genesis was born and raised in Fresno, CA. From a young age, she always knew she wanted to pursue higher education and provide for underserved communities as she is proudly a child of undocumented parents. Genesis is passionate about helping individuals find their sense of community and providing a safe space for all to share topics that are not often talked about.

Genesis is a first generation college student, and obtained her Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Davis in 2023. There, she majored in Chicana/o Studies, as well as minored in Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s studies.

Genesis works as a Program Coordinator for the Prevention and Early Intervention team. She is currently running Friday Night Live programs at Parlier High School and San Joaquin Valley High School located in Parlier, CA. She also oversees the HOPE Youth Leadership Program, providing low-income, first generation Latinas with an opportunity to practice skills needed for college preparation and financial empowerment.

Outside of yli, Genesis enjoys exercising, watching documentaries, and learning about different cultures.
