Itzel is a Program Assistant at the Long Beach office, they support the Youth Leading Change coalition groups in Gardena and Santa Monica. As a part of these coalitions, Itzel collaborates with youth aged 14-24 to advocate for health equity and create retail-tobacco-free spaces through community-based research, storytelling, and campaigns.
Itzel’s vision is to support youth in their revolutionary journeys by fostering learning through listening to each other’s stories and weaving together the threads of resilience, compassion, and shared purpose that lead to liberation
Outside the office Itzel enjoys expression through painting and writing, wandering with the ocean, and practicing movement.
